Michelle Kerr is the Divine Child High School’s Salutatorian. Michelle is a member of the girls track and cross-country team. Michelle excels in running. If you ever go to a track or cross country meet, you will see her leading the pack. Her talent does not come without hard work. Michelle is driven, she runs every day. It does not matter if it raining, snowing, or hailing, Michelle will be outside running. This determination and hard work has paid off. Michelle received a scholarship to run at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. In addition to her athletic scholarship, Michelle has received a academic scholarship. Michelle is a true model of a student athlete. At Hope, Michelle is planing on studding nursing. When asked why she wanted to be a nurse, she said, “I have always wanted a career in which I can interact with people and better their lives, so nursing will definitely let me do both of these!” Inspiration of becoming a nurse also came from her mom, who has a career in nursing. When she’s older, Michelle wants to find a way to give back to the school she practically spent her whole life at.

Michelle went to both the DC Elementary School and the high school. Michelle’s favorite part about DC has always been her teachers and her friends. These friends and teachers are what she will miss most about DC. Even though Michelle is going on to run in college, she will miss DC cross country and her teammates. Michelle said her favorite memories of high school, “  Involve the cross country team and the mud, mismatched clothing, and scavenger hunts that came with it.”
